The newsroom management system OpenMedia is designed as a service oriented, multi-tier application, which is based on SQL databases. Special characteristics of this platform include multi processor support, Active-/Active cluster with static load balancing and the usage of fibre channel (FC-Fabric) storage technology to guarantee a failsafe system that is available at all times.
The server operations system to be used are the most recent versions Microsoft Windows 2003 and 2008 Advanced Server and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition. The clients are operated by Windows XP and Windows Vista. The latest OpenMedia Releases fully support Windows Vista themes.
