Advanced Script Editing

A script in OpenMedia is much more than just the rundown item containing the presenter’s text. Each script is itself a container for the individual elements that make up a broadcast or publication. MOS objects and background documents can be added to the script by either menu command or drag-and-drop operation.

Multiple types of script templates may be configured to reflect varying applications such as TV script, radio script or online article, and to achieve different layouts and behavior e.g. timing rules.

An integrated text editor, familiar to Microsoft Word users and including the use of standard Microsoft Office spell-checking tools, assists the journalists when writing scripts. The text editor adds broadcast-specific functionality such as the read-rate based script duration timer, duration calculation or teleprompter exclusion marks or two-column editing for a separate treatment of MOS objects and gallery directives.
