Swiss Radio and Television selects OpenMedia as global newsroom system

September 2011 –

Swiss Radio and Television, one of the largest and most complex broadcasters in Europe, selects OpenMedia as a global newsroom system.

Using a Campus License to manage the use of OpenMedia modules, as well as a frame contract to embed and guarantee service maintenance, SRG is in a position to move ahead with its plans to implement tri-media workflows and output everywhere. "After the positive experience and high acceptance levels of OpenMedia in previous projects, we've decided that the best way forward is buying a Campus Licence. With this we are able to fully exploit OpenMedia on a journalistic and commercial level." says Silvio Studer, CTO of SRG.

Integration with Conciety

September 2011 –

The OpenMedia functions are now available via the web-based solution of Conciety, IQon MSF.

The joint solution centralizes the search within the newsroom system OpenMedia and affiliated asset management systems. Research, as well as gathering and preparation of content for news production can now occur both with the popular OpenMedia rich client as well as via the web client IQon MSF. All media content is stored in a central location - there are no duplicates.

OpenMedia goes South Africa

March 2010 –

German public broadcasting group ARD is supplying a mobile OpenMedia system to its journalists for use during the FIFA Soccer World Cup 2010 in South Africa. Led by the public station SWR (Südwestrundfunk) a mobile OpenMedia system exactly matched to the needs and demands of large events was designed.

Planned contributions include broadcasts from the German national team camp, press conferences, games broadcasts and the supply of background reports for the whole group of broadcasters. The journalists on site receive their own agency information and access to all sports schedules of news agency DPA. Schedules can be directly imported and managed in the OpenMedia „EventCalendar“ through the use of the EventML G2 standard protocol.
